East Bay Community Foundation Seeks Applications for New Work by Local Artists

The East Bay Community Foundation is seeking applications from local artists for the commissioning of new works.

Grants of up to $8,000, which will be matched by donor contributions on a 1-to-1 basis, will be awarded to artists and nonprofit organizations to support the creation of new works by local composers, playwrights, choreographers, visual, and media artists in the Bay Area; to engage donors; to support for diversity of artistic practices and organizations; and/or to provide opportunities for communities of color to experience art that represents their culture and history.

Eligible organizations include nonprofit exhibition spaces, performance presenters, media, and arts organizations located in Alameda or Contra Costa counties. In addition, commissions must be for new work by a Bay Area resident, funding must be allocated for lead artists' fees only, and the work must be presented in the East Bay.

See the East Bay Community Foundation for complete program guidelines and application instructions, as well as information about how to register for an informational webinar.
