University of Kansas Medical Center Receives $25 Million Gift

The KU Endowment has announced a gift of $25 million from the Hall Family Foundation in support of a new health education building at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

The gift will enable the university to advance its plans to construct a $75 million health education building in Kansas City, Kansas, that will be paid for through a combination of state bonds, university funds, and private philanthropy. The new facility will make it possible for the school of medicine to expand class sizes across all three campuses and address the shortage of physicians in the state.

“The University of Kansas Hospital is nationally recognized in numerous clinical areas, and National Cancer Institute designation confirms KUMC’s research strength,” said Don Hall, chair of the Hall Foundation. “This new building will provide unparalleled inter-professional health education for the physicians, scientists, and nurses who will build on this momentum.”
